League RP Policy on Jedi Romantic Relationships
« on: April 03, 2011, 01:12:26 PM EDT »

The Corellian league RP policy on Jedi Romantic Relationships. Supported by the Lore Keepers.

As you probably already know, the Jedi Order traditionally frowns on Jedi entering romantic relationships. The Jedi Order discourages romantic relationships for several reasons, primarily because of a concern that the Jedi will become attached to his/her partner and place a higher priority on the relationship, thus potentially neglecting their duty as a Jedi. That said, there have been times in the Jedi Orders history when the Order has allowed its members to enter romantic relationships, times when they more or less looked the other way, and times when such relationships were strictly forbidden.
This is also the official stance of the era of SW:TOR. According to in-game Jedi story lines, it seems that the Jedi Order at this time frowns on romantic relationships.
However, Corellians have always placed high value of family and familial relationships. Corellians are also well known as rogues, a people that march to the beat of their own drum, so to speak. This applies even to Corellian Jedi who follow their own brand of Jedi traditions (such as generally wearing green robes, the use of Jedi Credits, and having families of their own). Although we are sure the Jedi Council would prefer to have Corellian Jedi fall more closely in line with the teachings of the Jedi Order, it does not appear to be an issue the Jedi Council is eager to press.
For role-playing purposes, this guild believes that the Jedi Order frowns on romantic relationships. However, as a Corellian Jedi (a Jedi born into a Corellian family and thus immersed in Corellian culture and traditions), the Jedi Order will overlook your romantic relationship (within reason).
